Discovering your identity: Princesa en proceso a reina

As a successful Latina in business, I consider it my duty and an honor to help other women grow. I believe that when we achieve our dreams and grow in life, it’s our responsibility to set an example and give back. This is why on Women’s Day last March, I organized the event “Descubriendo tu identidad: Princesa en proceso a reina” through my company La Rosa Real Estate Kissimmee.

All women are princesses with the potential to become queens of their destiny. And it’s that destiny that we wanted to celebrate. When you discover your identity and acknowledge all of its capacity, you gain control of your life and guide it towards where you want it to be. There is nothing more satisfactory than discovering the leader inside you and using it to help others find their way.

This event was from women and for women. We networked and enjoyed dinner and each other, we spoke about the questions we make to ourselves as women and what womanhood means to us and what our identity signifies.

As we gathered to talk about the process of growing and discovering who you are and your mission in life, I couldn’t help but think of my own path.

In 2005 I joined la Rosa Realty as an agent, and in 2011 I became a Director of Education coordinating and teaching over 500 agents in English and Spanish. I guess, education and helping people find a path was a part of who I am from the beginning. Although I didn’t know it at the time. As I moved into a Branch Manager role with 400 agents reporting to me on the largest office in the Kissimmee area, developing and helping others find their place in this industry was and still is one of the things I’m most grateful and proud of.

Leading a team, educating them, and helping them grow is what motivated me every day and what jumpstarted my growth within La Rosa Realty. The moment I got into educating realtors I started moving up because I had found my true purpose.

Last year, I became a broker and owner of an office with over 300 agents. This is the largest in Kissimmee. Providing leadership and guidance is now, more than ever, not just my responsibility but also my pride. And so, as I watched these ladies get their crowns and talk about finding themselves and their future, I felt good. Not just because I found mine but because I realized how I’m helping others find theirs. It is true what they say, the sky is the limit of what you can accomplish but you’ve accomplished nothing if you can’t share it with others. Well, I’m sharing it with 300 agents and those who are yet to come and join our team.
